The new portal of Slovak TV JOJ takes advantage of the latest multimedia and Web 2.0 technologies such as live H.264 streaming, mobile streaming or interactive video composer.
The portal is tuned in characteristic red colors with gentle modern background graphics. At the top of each section there is a list of latest articles cycling in 5-second intervals or changing as the mouse cursor hovers article titles.
The TV JOJ portal delivers local and world news, current topics and show business gossip. Most of the articles contain video clips and pictures.
It is possible to watch live broadcast in 4 levels of quality from low-bitrate 320x240 up to full PAL at 1.5 mbps. All streams are encoded with H.264 and AAC codecs and can be received on all platforms using Flash technology. After a show is aired an automated archiving system puts the show into the archive removing any commercial breaks.
According to Mediasearch the TV JOJ portal had a total number of 392 999 unique visitors after the new portal was launched in april 2008 with the expectation to rise significantly.
